Turmeric Smoothie – a delicious and powerful cup of anti-oxidant

Below are two great drinks to try:

Turmeric smoothie
•1 cup hemp or coconut milk
•1/2 cup frozen pineapple or mango chunks
•1 fresh banana
•1 tablespoon coconut oil
•1/2 teaspoon turmeric (can be increased to 1 tsp)
•1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
•1/2 teaspoon ginger
•1 teaspoon chia seeds
•1 teaspoon maca (optional)

Golden Milk

Step 1: Turmeric paste

Ingredients
1/4 cup of turmeric powder
1/2 teaspoon of ground pepper
1/2 cup of filtered water

Preparation
Place all the ingredients into a sauce pan and cook over medium-heat, stirring often. Stir until the mixture becomes thick and paste like, it shouldn’t take long. Allow the mixture to cool and then store in the refrigerator.

Step 2: ‘’Gold milk’’

Ingredients
1 cup of almond milk (hemp or coconut milk is also a good option)
1 teaspoon of coconut oil
1/4 teaspoon or more of turmeric paste
Honey

Preparation
Mix all ingredients except the honey in a pot for cooking. Place the pot over medium heat. Stir constantly, without letting it boil. Add honey at the end for taste.
